Red Deer, Alta. – On Mar. 3, 2022, Red Deer RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Howlett Avenue in Red Deer’s Highland Green neighbourhood.
An investigation began on Feb. 22 after an attempted fraudulent online purchase and misuse of a credit card. The owner of the credit card used in the transaction was alerted by the purchase and reported it to police. Through investigation, CRT was able to determine the location of the attempted fraudulent purchase to be at a property on Howlett Avenue.
A search warrant was obtained for the property and given the extensive history with the residents of this property, Red Deer RCMP requested the assistance of the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) to execute the search warrant. There were no occupants present at the time of the search warrant.
Located at the property were numerous electronic devices and numerous identity documents of other people. RCMP continue to process and analyze the seized items.
No arrests were made at the time of the search. As the investigation proceeds, charges are anticipated in relation to this incident.
