Red Deer Lights the Nights is festive fun for everyone to enjoy, all season long!

Red Deer Lights the Nights means not just lighting up one night, but many. Throughout the season, family-friendly events and activities take place across downtown and beyond. Visit City Hall Park after November 21 to admire the lights and be sure to check out Ross Street Patio and other exciting Downtown spaces throughout the season to find festive fun waiting for all to enjoy.

Whether you are a seasoned writer like a warm winter greeting or new like fallen snow to the world of writing, we want to see your stories! Submit your stories to the Red Deer Arts Council. Winners to be announced Dec 8. Top stories will be published on the We Are Red Deer website.

Bring the family for some snowshoe fun, no experience necessary! Our snowshoes fit 3 years and up: you are welcome to bring a sled for your little ones. Be sure to dress for the weather to stay comfortable and warm while enjoying some time together in the beautiful Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary.

All ages welcome for this drop in activity. Snowshoes are first come, first served. Last snowshoes go out at 3 p.m..

Program runs if snow levels and temperatures are permitting. Temperature cut off is -25 degrees Celsius including windchill.

$3/person or $10/family.
