Spring 2024 Sweeping Order

Downtown and residential sweeping along Grey Routes is now complete.

Green Route street sweeping begins Tuesday, May 17. Please use the map below to check when your neighbourhood is scheduled. Streets are swept from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Watch for No Parking signs in your neighbourhood and sign up for Notify Red Deer to get an alert before street sweeping begins in your area. 

Grey Routes are the quieter streets, closes and crescents in your neighbourhood that get less traffic, where as Green Routes are the larger and busier main roads in the neighbourhood, including bus routes and school zones. Don't know your Zone and Route? Click here to search.

What you need to know

• "No Parking" signs are placed on the streets a minimum of 12 hours before work begins, however we often place them up to 24 hours in advance to provide sufficient warning to residents. Please watch for these signs in your area. Vehicles left parked on signed streets will be ticketed and possibly towed.
• All curb ramps, basketball hoops and other objects must be removed from City streets.
• You can help by sweeping debris from the sidewalks in front of your house on to the road.
• If your cart collection day is the same as your street sweeping day, put your carts out as you usually would, our teams will take care of the rest. 
• Be sure to stay a safe distance from sweepers, obey construction signs, and slow down when passing maintenance workers. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
