Seasonal Patio Program

Expand your business onto a sidewalk patio during the summer months.
Fratters outdoor patio

The Seasonal Patio Program helps Red Deer food and beverage businesses expand onto outdoor patio space during the warmer months.

Requirements for seasonal patios may differ depending on the location of the business. If your business is in Greater Downtown, you will find two downtown patio streams below: patios separate from Ross Street Patio and patios within Ross Street Patio.

Greater Downtown Businesses

Businesses separate from Ross Street Patio

These patios may require boardwalks to be installed around the perimeter of the patio to provide a safe, accessible walkway for pedestrians. The City will build, install, remove and store necessary boardwalks at no cost to participating businesses.

A solid barrier around these patios is no longer required. Patios must be suitably defined using rope, planters, railing or similar barrier.
