The following items are on the agenda for consideration.
CONSENT:
Council meeting start time change request:
- Council will consider changing the start time for the July 28, 2026, meeting from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Capital Information and Expenditure Variance Report:
- Council will consider a report on The City’s capital budget and project spending. The report is required to meet municipal reporting obligations and provides an update on capital project activity and variance.
- Council will also be asked to approve funding for a legally required expropriation payment related to the 67 Street Corridor Improvement Project.
Quarterly Financial Report:
- Council will receive The City’s Q1 financial report for information. The report provides an update on The City’s financial position and performance for the first three months of the year.
- Results reflect the expected seasonal pattern for municipal finances, with lower revenues early in the year and higher activity later in the budget cycle. Overall, The City’s financial position remains stable, and key indicators continue to align with long-term expectations.
- A refreshed quarterly reporting format is being used to improve clarity and make financial information easier to understand.
Zoning Bylaw Amendment:
- City Council will consider first reading of a Zoning Bylaw amendment to rezone a portion of 2049-22 Street from R-M to R-N.
REPORTS:
Infrastructure Sustainability and Stewardship Report:
- Council will receive a report on The City’s long-term infrastructure sustainability and asset management practices. The report provides an update on how The City plans, maintains and invests in its infrastructure to support reliable service delivery over time.
- The report supports ongoing work to ensure The City’s infrastructure remains in good condition and that investments are made in a way that is sustainable and consistent with Council priorities.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
Zoning Bylaw Amendment – site exception:
- There will be a public hearing and consideration of second and third reading for a site exception for unit 11 and 16, at 7875-48 Avenue.
Zoning Bylaw Amendment – rezoning:
- There will be a public hearing and consideration of second and third reading for rezoning of 6817-52 Avenue from I-1 to C-4.
