Community Culture Development Fund continues support of local arts, culture and heritage groups

Eight different not-for-profit organizations in Red Deer have been granted a total of $20,000 in one-time funding from The City of Red Deer’s Community Culture Development Fund – Culture Opportunities Category.

The Community Culture Development Fund has provided financial support to not-for-profit organizations delivering arts, culture, and heritage initiatives in our community since 2000. Grant funds are from the Opportunities Category are intended to support to offset short notice and/or one-time costs related to culture opportunities where longer term planning was not possible.

Over $98,000 was requested of the $20,000 in available funds for this annual funding cycle and 10 out of 23 requests were approved. In 2026, $20,000 will once again be available for the ongoing next intake of the Community Culture Development Fund - Culture Opportunities Category. The annual budget for this funding category has been fully expended; therefore, no applications will be accepted from now until the end of the year.

There are exciting updates coming to the CCDF Opportunities Category in 2026 with the inclusion of events and other emerging cultural projects, ideal for pilot initiatives or creative one-time events.
