Eligible not-for-profit organizations are invited to apply for funding through the Community Culture Development Fund (CCDF) Opportunities Category. This funding stream supports not-for-profit organizations delivering new opportunities and/or emerging projects related to arts and culture.

For the current funding cycle, updates have been made to the CCDF Opportunities Category to better support emerging needs within the arts and culture community.

Key updates include:

  • An updated purpose that focuses on support for new opportunities and/or emerging projects related to arts and culture. These include items and/or projects that foster creativity, arts and culture and may not occur without CCDF Opportunities funding.
  • The inclusion of arts and culture events, making this category well-suited for pilot initiatives and creative one-time events.
  • Greater clarity around evaluation criteria, as well as eligible and ineligible expenses, to support fairness and transparency in funding decisions.

Funding through the CCDF Opportunities Category may support:

  • Capacity building, such as training opportunities that develop talent and leadership within the culture sector
  • Specialized equipment required for the delivery of cultural activities, purchased on a one-time basis
  • Arts and culture events, such as first-time or pilot projects, or events that demonstrate significant change from previous iterations
  • Emergency project funding for projects experiencing unforeseen challenges that could threaten their feasibility, provided on a one-time basis

Organizations may apply for up to $3,000 per project.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with no deadline, and funding decisions are typically made within four weeks of receiving a complete application. This funding stream remains open annually until available funds are fully allocated.

Whether an organization has received CCDF Opportunities funding in the past or is applying for the first time, applicants are encouraged to review the updated Application Guide to determine whether an upcoming project aligns with the purpose of the grant.
