Grant received for light automation to reduce energy consumption

(Red Deer, Alberta)

The City of Red Deer has received $10,100 in funding through the Municipal Energy Manager Program to support the installation of a lighting automation system on the second floor of City Hall. The project will improve energy efficiency and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions through smarter building operations, with estimated annual savings of $1,823 and annual electricity savings of 13,022 kWh.

The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre is a partnership of Alberta Municipalities, the Rural Municipalities of Alberta, and the Government of Alberta. Funding for the Municipal Energy Manager Program was provided by the Government of Alberta.
