Make a meaningful holiday impact through Toys for Tickets

The City of Red Deer is reminding residents that toy donations are still being collected for this year’s Toys for Tickets program.

Residents with eligible parking tickets can donate a new, unwrapped toy of equal or greater value than the amount owing to have their ticket forgiven. The early ticket amount still applies for those choosing to participate through a toy donation. Toys will be accepted at City Hall until December 5.

“We know it takes extra time to go out and buy a toy instead of simply paying your ticket, and we truly appreciate that effort,” said Stephanie Gramlich, Parking Coordinator. “But that small act of kindness makes a big difference for a child or teen on Christmas morning. Your choice to donate helps ensure every young person in our community feels seen and supported during the holiday season.”

This year, the greatest need is for toys and gifts suitable for older youth aged 10–17. A list of suggested items is available on The City’s website, and includes:

  • Musical instruments
  • Headphones and earbuds
  • Sports equipment
  • Puzzles
  • Remote control toys
  • Hair tools
  • Makeup kits
  • Pajamas

All donated toys support the Red Deer Christmas Bureau, helping ensure every child and teen in our community experiences a brighter holiday season.

Anyone wishing to donate directly to the Christmas Bureau or seeking assistance is encouraged to visit reddeerchristmasbureau.com.
