Seniors across the community are invited to take a trip down memory lane at the Mayor’s Seniors Social, Through the Windshield of Time, on June 3, 2026, at Exhibition Hall in Westerner Park. The free event will welcome guests for an afternoon celebrating the stories, memories, and music that helped shape Red Deer from the 1930s to the 1970s.
Guests can look forward to an afternoon of nostalgia, story-sharing, and live music performed by a quartet from the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra. The performance will take attendees on a musical journey through the decades, celebrating the experiences and memories of Red Deer seniors in a warm and welcoming setting.
Attendees are encouraged to join in the spirit of the event by dressing in a favourite style from the 1930s to the 1970s, although participation is completely optional.
Mayor Cindy Jefferies and City Manager Tara Lodewyk will open the event and spend time visiting with guests about the memories and moments that have made Red Deer special to them. Members of City Council and City staff will also attend to connect with guests and serve refreshments and sweet treats.
Open to all seniors aged 55 and older, the Mayor’s Seniors Social is free to attend and offers an opportunity to gather with friends, share memories, and enjoy an afternoon of community connection.
