Building permit values rise in July

Building permit values increased in July, with 86 approved permits valued at $16 million, compared with 92 permits issued in July 2021 worth $9 million.

Year-to-date building permit values remain higher in 2022, with current values at $105.8 million compared with $78 million last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for interior and exterior renovations to former Safeway Food Store as it is converted to a FreshCo Food Store at 4407 50 Avenue, valued at $7.3 million
  • Building permit for interior renovations of existing veterinary hospital and restaurant space at 7644 50 Avenue, valued at $2 million
  • Building permit for exterior renovations and window replacement at 3942 50 Avenue, valued at $1.4 million
  • Building permit for renovations to convert restaurant into dental clinic at B101-5212 48 Street, valued at $760,000
  • Building permit for tenant improvements at 800-3020 22 Street, valued at $640,000
