The City of Red Deer is calling on community-minded individuals to apply for election worker positions for the 2025 Municipal Election.
The City of Red Deer has partnered with 10 other central Alberta municipalities to form the Central Alberta Economic Resilience Taskforce (CAERT). CAERT is seeking input from local businesses so they can better understand current economic conditions in the
Once again, non-profit groups are invited to apply for funding through The City of Red Deer’s Community Recreation Enhancement Grant. The program provides funding to enhance the delivery of community recreation programs, services and events in Red Deer.
At today’s regular City Council meeting, Council gave First Reading to proposed amendments to the Zoning Bylaw that would change how Backyard Suites are regulated in the city.
Following a Public Hearing, City Council has approved changes to the Evergreen Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) and a related Zoning Bylaw Amendment to support a greater variety of housing options for residents at different life stages and income.

Building permit values continued to increase in July, with 122 issued permits valued at $30.7 million, compared with 92 permits issued in July 2024 worth $17.4 million.

Next week, City Council will consider the proposed 2026 Utilities Budget, which sets operating and capital plans for The City’s self-funded utilities: Electric, Water, Wastewater, and Waste Management.
