Do you know an individual or group in Red Deer whose efforts have made our community stronger or brought pride to our city? Nominations for the 2026 Mayor’s Recognition Awards are now open!
The Mayor’s Recognition Awards celebrate outstanding contributions that have brought honour and recognition to Red Deer across a variety of areas. This year, the awards have been updated to focus on broader community and volunteer contributions, and the athletics category has been removed. Sport achievements will continue to be recognized through community-led programs, while the Mayor’s Recognition Awards shine a spotlight on other vital areas of service and accomplishment.
Awards are now open to anyone who lives in or contributes to our community. Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:
- Community Builder Award
- Distinguished Voluntary Service
- Fine & Performing Arts
- Mayor’s Special Award (for humanitarianism, exceptional achievement, or acts of heroism or bravery)
Award recipients are selected by the Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee, with the exception of the Mayor’s Special Award, which is chosen directly by the Mayor.
Nominations will be accepted until March 27 at 9 a.m. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize those who make Red Deer such a remarkable place to live, work, and play.
