Seasonal changes to Green Cart collection will start on November 10 as Green Carts shift to every other week collection.
From November 10 to March 30, Green Carts will be collected every other week on the same week as Blue Carts. Weekly collection will resume in the spring when seasonal yard waste increases.
“As yard waste decreases through the winter months, adjusting Green Cart collection to every other week allows us to make the best use of resources while still providing reliable service for residents,” said Waste Diversion Specialist, Marilyn Moore. “We appreciate the community’s continued efforts to properly sort materials and keep organics out of the landfill year-round.”
Updated cart collection calendars are available at reddeer.ca/CartCollection and residents are encouraged to sign up for Cart Collection notifications through Notify Red Deer for personalized reminders about which cart(s) to set out each week. Residents can sign up or add these alerts to their existing account at reddeer.ca/NotifyRedDeer.
