The City of Red Deer has received updated information regarding shared e-scooter and e-bike service in Red Deer.
Lime Technology Canada has announced it has acquired Neuron Mobility Canada Ltd. and intends to assume Neuron’s operations in several Canadian communities, including Red Deer, following a transition period.
The City is now in discussions to better understand what this means for shared e-scooter and e-bike service in Red Deer. At this time, local operating details, timelines and any potential transition to Lime have not been confirmed.
Shared e-scooter and e-bike operations in Red Deer are managed through a Licence Agreement with the operator. The agreement outlines operating requirements such as speed limits, geofenced areas, equipment standards, insurance, customer service, unit retrieval and liability. There are no financial or contractual impacts to The City of Red Deer as a result of this change.
