Red Deer, Alta. - Red Deer RCMP were present at Lindsey Thurber Comprehensive High School for the duration of the day today, following a non-specific threat found written on a bathroom stall yesterday.
Police conducted extensive patrols to ensure the safety of staff and students. No concerns were reported.
Red Deer RCMP would like to remind students and families about the seriousness of these situations. All incidents of this nature are investigated thoroughly and those responsible could potentially face criminal charges. These actions have far-reaching effects on the other students, families, school and community.
The investigation into this matter continues, and police will continue patrols and increased presence for some time.

Red Deer, Alta. – On Dec. 13, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a potential threat to students and staff at Lindsey Thurber Comprehensive High School in Red Deer. The threat was not specific but did list a date of ‘Dec. 14.’
RCMP are currently investigating, to determine the veracity of the report.
There will be an increased police presence, with additional officers and patrols. Red Deer RCMP are working closely with school officials to ensure everyone’s safety.
