Toys for Tickets

If you receive a parking ticket in November, you can pay it with a toy!
Toys For Tickets

All toys collected through this program are donated to the Red Deer Christmas Bureau, helping ensure no child in Red Deer wakes up without a toy on Christmas morning.

How it works

If you receive a City-issued parking ticket in November, you can pay it by donating a toy instead of cash.

  • Toys must be new, unwrapped, and in original packaging.
  • They must be of equal or greater value than the amount owing on the ticket.
  • A receipt showing the toy's value must be presented at the time of donation.

Toy donations can be dropped off at City Hall during regular business hours until December 5. The City delivers all donated toys to the Red Deer Christmas Bureau for distribution to families in need.

Please note: Tickets issued for residential snow plowing are not eligible for this program. However, anyone is welcome to donate directly to the Christmas Bureau.

Making a list, checking it twice

Each year, the Red Deer Christmas Bureau shares a list of the most requested items from local children. This year, gifts for youth aged 10–17 are most needed.

For ideas by age group, check the Christmas Bureau’s Toy List. When shopping, consider supporting local Red Deer businesses to make your gift even more meaningful.

For families in need

If you or someone you know could use a little help this holiday season, the Red Deer Christmas Bureau may be able to assist. Visit their website to review program requirements and apply for support.
