A citizen focused service. Citizens are confident they receive value in the services provided by The City. We are committed to service excellence and review operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
2019 - 2022 City of Red Deer Strategic Direction
Every four years, following the municipal elections, work on renewing the strategic plan begins; however, strategic planning is an ongoing activity through monitoring, reporting and budgeting. Strategic planning is used to determine long-term vision and goals, and to develop the action plan to achieve those goals. It is also a good method for the municipality to communicate strategic priorities to staff and citizens. This provides direction for internal departments to align their service delivery with these priorities.
The Strategic Plan is the document – strategic planning is a process and something we as an organization will continue to work on as we move forward.
The 2019-2022 Strategic Plan has been approved by Council. Now, administration will respond by showing how the organization plans to deliver upon Council’s direction – this is the strategic implementation. It consists of elements such as charters for each theme area, projects, policy, work plans and budgets. These form a reasonable interpretation of the strategic direction set by Council.
