Picnic on the Plaza

Take your lunch break to the Plaza

Picnic on the Plaza

Step away from your desk and spend your lunch hour at Picnic on the Plaza, happening every second Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Gary W. Harris Celebration Plaza, located at the west entrance of the Intermediate School at 5205 48 Avenue.

Bring a coworker, invite nearby colleagues, or stop by if you’re working downtown.

Enjoy the featured food truck each week or bring your own lunch. Free activities include chess, AstroTurf lawn games (think cornhole!), art activities and a chance to connect with others working in and around downtown. The event is free to attend; food truck purchases are at each attendee’s own cost.

This picnic series is designed to bring more activity to the plaza and help make it a welcoming, comfortable gathering space for the community.

Event dates:

  • July 29 – Food Truck: ChizCorner
  • August 12 – Food Truck: El Pinky powered by Sabor Latino
  • August 26 – Food Truck: Uncle Dru Street Kitchen
  • September 9 – TBD
  • September 23 – TBD

The picnic series is weather dependent. Watch City channels for weather-related updates before heading over.
