Engineering Services Information Requests

The Engineering department provides responses to public Requests for Information about properties within the City of Red Deer. There is no fee for this service.

For a specific property (municipal address), the Engineering department can provide information about the following:

  • Site contamination, spills, releases, contaminant migration;
  • Whether the development agreement for the lands is presently in good standing as well as any other agreements that would relate to the Property;
  • Any outstanding charges, levies, special taxes, development charges, and any other outstanding costs and expenses relating to the Property;
  • Information about traffic concerns, route access, loading zones or lay-bys;
  • Any outstanding orders, deficiencies or agreements regarding the property as it relates to wastewater and drainage concerns;
  • Existence or history of existence of flammable or combustible underground or aboveground storage tanks on the property;
  • Current or pending local improvements;
  • Expropriation proceedings.

To submit a request, please email EngInfoRequests@reddeer.ca with the following information:

  • Your full name, phone number and email address;
  • The full municipal address of the property you are requesting information about;
  • The type(s) of information you are requesting from the list above; and
  • The timeframe you would like searched (e.g., June 1, 2019 to present).

All initial inquiries will receive a response within four business days. The formal records response for the specific property will take approximately two weeks. For non-routine requests, or depending on available resources, Engineering’s response may take longer. Please note that the Engineering Services Information Requests email (EngInfoRequests@reddeer.ca) will not be monitored, and requests will not be processed or responded to during holiday office closures.
