Corridor Community Gallery
Goals
- To support a variety of community arts practitioners, community groups and individuals at all levels of experience by providing exhibition space,
- To encourage exposure to and dialog about the arts,
- To make a variety of artwork available as reference material for students of art classes held in the facility,
- To highlight the visual arts in spaces adjacent to some of our studios in the Recreation Centre to help create an environment that reflects and celebrates the arts activity in the facility.
Exhibition Proposals
Culture Services invites informal proposals from community groups, collectives and individuals wanting to display two-dimensional visual art.
Nine exhibition frames are available (24 x 30”) - 7 are hung vertically and 2 are horizontal. The frames are attached to the wall with security hangers. A display case is available for displaying three-dimensional work.
As the format is limited and the work is presented in a mixed-use public area rather than a gallery context, artwork must be deemed suitable for display in this area at the discretion of the programming staff.
