On July 3, 2026, Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) concluded a drug trafficking investigation which resulted in a significant quantity of drugs being taken off Red Deer city streets.
On July 2, 2026, Red Deer RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle along 30 Ave. in Red Deer, Alta. The male driver and male passenger in the vehicle were arrested, and a search warrant was executed at a private residence in the Lancaster neighborhood of Red Deer.
As a result of the search warrant, Red Deer RCMP CRT, with the assistance of Red Deer RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS) located and seized:
- Approximately 1127 grams of suspected fentanyl;
- Approximately 334 grams of suspected cocaine;
- Approximately 24.1 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine;
- Approximately 1 litre of suspected gamma hydroxybutyrate;
- Approximately $15,000 in Canadian currency;
- Drug trafficking materials including scales and packaging materials.
22-year-old Japinderjeet Singh, a resident of Calgary, has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x4)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Following a Judicial Interim Release (JIR) hearing, Singh was remanded into custody. Singh has since been released with conditions and was scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Aug. 6, 2026.
23-year-old Ravinder Singh Gosal, a resident of Surrey, British Columbia, has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x4)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Failing to attend court
Following a JIR hearing, Gosal was remanded into custody. Gosal has since been released with conditions and was scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on July 23, 2026. Gosal failed to attend court on July 23, 2026, and a warrant for his arrest was issued by the courts.
